Work Well
The aim of WorkWell is to connect people with health conditions and/or disabilities to local support services so they can get the tailored help they need to stay in or return to work.
Talk Wellbeing
Our team of NHS nurses, health care assistants and social prescribers are out and about across the county providing free health checks. These health checks help you to understand your risk of having a heart attack, stroke, type 2 diabetes and some types of dementia and what to do to reduce your risk. The health checks take 20 – 30 minutes and check your blood pressure, cholesterol, pulse, height and weight. You will be given your results at the same time by our team who will also be able to give you advice and signpost you to other services.
Check out where we are below. These events are for anyone 18 and over to drop in and see us – no appointment is necessary.

1 in 4 deaths in the UK are because of cardiovascular disease, and many of these are avoidable with some simple changes. Cardiovascular disease includes heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and some types of dementia. Having a health check can help people to understand their risk and take early action to reduce their chances of having cardiovascular disease.
We know that by coming to peoples workplaces or being out in communities can make it much easier for people to have a health check. These are quick, easy and are free as we are part of the NHS. The team will ask you a few questions and use a fingerpick test to take some blood to check your cholesterol. This means we can give you your results straight away.
We can give you advice and guidance, as well as signpost you to other services that can support you. Don’t worry if you aren’t registered with a GP practice, as our team will be able to help you to get registered.
Our outreach service is offered via pop-up clinics throughout the county and are available to anyone over the age of 18.
