Happy 75th Birthday NHS!
Today (5 July 2023) we celebrate the 75th birthday of the National Health Service.
When it was founded in 1948, the NHS was the first universal health system to be available to all, free at the point of delivery. Seventy-five years on, the NHS’s founding principles remain as relevant today as they were then.
General Practice is the cornerstone of the NHS. Despite the challenges, Herefordshire General Practice remains dedicated to providing the best possible care to patients, helping them to access the right care at the right time in the right place.
Research shows that the public still overwhelmingly support having a national health service, and it is what makes people most proud of our country.
So Happy Birthday NHS and thank you to all those working within General Practice, our partners and the wider NHS for everything they do, every day for their patients.
