Join us for General Practice Live Q & A Session
Dr Mike Hearne, MD at Taurus Healthcare and GP, and Dr Silvana McCaffrey, Clinical Director for North and West PCN and GP, will be answering questions on behalf of Herefordshire General Practice in a live Q&A session, hosted by Healthwatch Herefordshire.
The session will take place on Tuesday 20 July, from 7.00 pm via Healthwatch Herefordshire’s Facebook page and will be facilitated by Healthwatch’s Chief Officer, Christine Price.
Herefordshire General Practice has been open throughout the pandemic, although new systems and processes have had to be brought in place to protect patients and staff and the most vulnerable.
Even before the pandemic, Herefordshire GP surgeries were facing unprecedented demand for their services. They’re now offering 30% more appointments than early last year – over 50% face-to-face.
Additional specialist healthcare team members have also been appointed to work alongside GPs, including pharmacists, mental health specialists, dieticians, nurses and nurse practitioners. This means that when you contact your surgery, specially trained reception staff (sometimes called Care Navigators) will manage your call in order to ensure you are referred to the best person to help you with your health concern.
Through taking part in this live Q&A, Dr Mike and Dr Silvana are hoping to explain more about these changes, why they have been made and how they aim to benefit patients.
